Who is the data controller
Al-Sadiq School, Odense, is the data controller for the information processed in connection with enrolment and teaching. PLACEHOLDER: company registration number and postal address to be added.
What information we process
The child’s name, age and class. The parent’s name, e-mail address and telephone number. Records of absence. Any consent you have given — for photographs, for example.
Why we process it
To place the child in the right class, to be able to reach you, to keep a record of absence, and to send messages about the teaching and the programmes.
Who has access
The school’s administration sees all of it. A teacher sees only the children in their own classes and those children’s parents. A parent sees only their own child. We do not sell information and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
For as long as the child is enrolled, and after that for as long as it is necessary. PLACEHOLDER: the exact period is to be settled.
Our legal basis
Enrolment, classes, absence and messages we process in order to carry out the agreement about teaching. The fact that a child attends an Islamic school says something about your religion, and information of that kind we may process only when you have expressly agreed to it. You do that when you tick the box about the school’s rules in the enrolment form. From the age of 18 the consent is the young person’s own: they enrol themselves, and a parent cannot give it for them. Photographs we use only with your separate consent, and that consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Who processes the information for us
The website and the portal run at two companies on the school’s behalf: Supabase, which holds the database and the logins, with servers in Ireland, and Vercel, which serves the website itself. PLACEHOLDER: the school signs a data processing agreement with both before the site opens to real families.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold, have something incorrect put right, have information deleted, ask us to restrict how it is used, object to the processing, and receive your own information in a common file format. You may also withdraw a consent at any time. Write to the school and we will come back to you. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, dt@datatilsynet.dk.
